Reflection for November 2022

John 11:25

I am the resurrection and the life, whoever believes in me will live, even though they die.

As we move into November it is an appropriate time to reflect on these words of Jesus that reference His promise of eternal life. Many churches in many parts of the world remember at this time of year those who have passed away. In particular November 11 is widely recognized as a day to remember those who died in war in defence of freedom.

The key message of Jesus is that He came  to bring us eternal life. That belief in life after death is central to our Faith, the belief that in Jesus life is not taken away but changed and that we resolve to live Christ-like lives so as to be welcomed into that eternal life of Love with God. This is the nourishing motivation that invigorates our efforts to mirror the life of Jesus each day of our earthly lives.
