It’s not about me! Or, is it?

This question has plagued humanity, and indeed the world, since Adam and Eve – as they decided to do the one thing God had asked them not to do! Has anything changed? Well, the short answer is; no, not really! How frightening! Has the world not been paying for it ever since? Of course, it has. But, how can that be?

Greetings brothers and sisters, in Christ Jesus.

I find myself asking this question often and having been in isolation for several months now due to the global coronavirus pandemic, I have had more time to ponder this age-old problem. I’m sorry to say that I won’t be able to share any new earth-shattering revelations to anyone reading this here today!

For all the many medical, sociological, technological and other advancements made by humans for humans since the garden of Eden we still can’t seem to get out of our own way when it comes to really honouring God in loving and caring for others in a wise, honest, humble or lasting way!

Would it be too simplistic to suggest the answer lies in the following quote from G.K. Chesterton (a famous English Philosopher) when he replied to a newspaper columnist’s Article: What’s Wrong with the World? To which Chesterton replied: “Dear Sir: Regarding your article ‘What’s Wrong with the World?’ I am. Yours truly, G.K Chesterton”.

Well, perhaps that is the point, isn’t it? Without faith in Jesus, what hope is there for humanity? The answer to this is dark, stark and failing!

I hope and pray that everyone in this world will surrender to God’s will and become members of His heavenly family! May we rejoice greatly as we revel in the truth that salvation from oneself and the sin that so easily ensnares us, is offered through only Jesus, the Christ. May you find him now!

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 [NIV].

Peace be with you, now and forever, amen.
